Internet poker has become globally acclaimed lately, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. The games universal appeal, though, arcs back quite a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years several variations on the first poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with 21 than traditional poker, in that the gamblers bet against the bank instead of the other players. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is little bluffing or different kinds of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up just before the dealer announcing "No further wagers." At that instance, both you and the bank and of course every one of the other players receive five cards each. After you have seen your hand and the dealer’s 1st card, you must in turn make a call bet or give up. The call wager’s value is equal to your original bet, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your bet goes directly to the house. After the wager is the conclusion. If the house does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, plus a figure on par with the initial wager. If the house has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the dealer’s hand. The dealer pays chips equal to your wager and fixed expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
