Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the normal 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The gambler is assigned 7 cards face up and the house gets 7 cards faces hidden.
A 5 card hand and a 2 card hand have to be made from the 7 cards dealt, the five card hand must be better than the two card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be better than the dealer’s.
