Caribbean Poker Regulations and Pointers

Online poker has become world acclaimed as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back in fact a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years several variants on the original poker game have been created, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling blackjack than traditional poker, in that the players wager against the house instead of each other. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is little conniving or other types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up prior to the croupier saying "No further bets." At that moment, both you and the bank and of course every one of the other gamblers receive 5 cards. After you have observed your hand and the bank’s initial card, you need to either make a call bet or bow out. The call wager’s value is akin to your original wager, indicating that the risks will have doubled. Surrendering means that your wager goes directly to the casino. After the wager is the conclusion. If the casino does not have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, with a figure in accordance with the ante. If the dealer does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the dealer’s hand. The dealer pays out cash equal to your original bet and fixed expectations on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
