Pai Gow Poker is a current game with old origins. Built on the old Chinese tile game and the current American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the eastern with the western in a fantastic game for starting gamblers.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player vs. the casino, not like almost all other poker games that players compete against other gamblers. By betting against the dealer, starting players do not have to fret about any other, more skillful individuals taking their money.
One more Pai Gow advantage is the fairly leisurely game play, novices will be able to take their time and strategize while not having to make frenzied choices.
It’s also easier to bet on for a very long time with basically a small amount of money after all, to not win, each of your hands needs to be under both of the houses hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the regular 52-card basic deck and one joker. The player is given seven cards face up and the croupier is given 7 cards face down.
One 5 card hand and a two card hand must be made from the seven cards, the 5 card hand has to be better than the two card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand values to be larger than the dealer’s.
